Affixes: Affixes are small word particles added to a root word to change its meaning or grammatical properties1234. There are three main types of affixes:

  • Prefixes: Attach to the beginning of a base or root word.
  • Infixes: Inserted within a word.
  • Suffixes: Attach to the end of a base or root word.

Inference: An inference is when you predict on on what is going to happen based on what you know now.

Antonyms: An antonym is the oppisite of a word or pharse.

Ex: He's a very bad dog. Ant: She's a very good dog.

Definition

Definition: A definition is a detailed explanation of word.

Story Mountains

Whenever an author starts a story, they use an exposition. This means the start talking about the setting and the characters. The character’s traits are internal and external. The character development is a change of the character's feelings. Characters change or grow due to events, conflicts, or lessons.  

 

Ask myself what do the characters feel? What did they say? What did they do? 

Then we have climax where the characters start to change. Then the falling actions are the solutions. Then we end up learning a message or moral. If you do not know a certain word in the text, use the strategy: IDEAAS. That stands for:
