Plot/Setting

Plot

  1. Stop when you come to the main event in the story.
  2. Ask yourself, “What did the character do to cause this to happen?”
  3. Connect: because this character ________ this happened: __________

The characters' actions and what they say develop the plot.

Setting

Setting is important because it helps us visualize where the character/s “lives” in the stories we read. It is also important because it gives us a head start in understanding the plot and making predictions about events in stories

Setting = where, when, and the environment the story takes place.
